Boots meal deal remains one of the top choices for food-to-go customers
The Boots meal deal remains one of the most popular choices for food-to-go shoppers, according to new research.
Him! Research & Consulting found that one in four shoppers said that the Boots meal deal was the number one reason for choosing Boots for their food-to-go purchases, creating a big challenge for the on-trade.
Boots has established itself as one of the major food-to-go retailers, alongside the likes Pret A Manger, Eat, Subway and other supermarket chains. It typically offers a sandwich, yogurt or cake, and drink for around £3.
Him! spoke to 2,500 food-to-go shoppers at WH Smiths, Greggs, Subway, coffee shops, Boots, convenience stores and forecourts.
Meanwhile, Sainsbury's, which early this year launched its first dedicated food-to-go store in London's Fleet Street, has introduced an offer of a free chilled drink with any sandwich, in recognition of the growing pull of the meal deal, Him! said.
