Bungalow 8 team to launch west London bar, restaurant and ping pong venue Ping
The teams behind London supper club Love Brunch and nightclub Bungalow 8 are to launch a new bar, restaurant and ping pong venue next month.
Alex Potter, Jonny Boud, Stevie Thomas and Fraser Shipsides are opening Ping, a 420-cover venue on Earls Court Road in west London in August.
Inspired by a trip to the USA, the venue will comprise two bars, an 80-seat restaurant and three ping pong tables.
Potter commented: "We created Ping to provide an alternative to the current night-time offering. We wanted to incorporate the transition process of a bygone era, dinner, drinking and dancing, with a contemporary novel twist."
The restaurant will serve pizzas, bruchettas and flatbreads created by Bruno Elias of the Pizza Italian Academy. Signature dishes will include the truffle with mozzarella, truffle sauce, roast potato and home-made sausage; the ceviche, a focaccia base with goats' cheese, cod ceviche, passion fruit sauce and basil; and the pear with blue cheese, walnuts and fresh caramelised pear.
The bar meanwhile will serve an extensive cocktail list from mixologist Chris Cwiek.
Interiors will be designed by Play-ID incorporating street art, graphic prints, and mirrors, as well as light installations and photographs of famous ping pong players.
