Cambridge pub and restaurant group launches crowdfunding campaign

Cambridge pub and restaurant group Cambscuisine has launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise £550,000 to fund its expansion.

The focus will be both freehold and leasehold pubs and restaurants in Cambridgeshire and the immediate surrounding areas

The fundraise coincides with Casual Dining Group chief operating officer James Spragg joining the board as non-executive director.

Managing director and co-founder of Cambscuisine Oliver Thain said: "We love the idea of local people joining our journey and helping us grow and develop the business as they have since our purchase of the Cock, Hemingford in 2001.

"It therefore made real sense to raise with SyndicateRoom, a crowdfunding platform just 10 doors up from the Cambridge Chop House. This opportunity to raise funds will enable us to realise the many potential opportunities and to accelerate the growth of the group."

Spragg said: "I have followed the Cambscuisine business for a number of years and am delighted to be joining their board as both a non-executive director and investor in the business. It has huge potential and a great base from which to build and grow."

Eligible investors in the company can receive 30% income tax relief on their investment, in addition to other tax reliefs that are part of the government-backed Enterprise Investment Scheme.
