Canadian chain Tim Hortons to launch first UK café in Glasgow
Canadian café and bake shop chain Tim Hortons is launching its first UK site in Glasgow before rolling out across the UK over the next year.
The first store will open on Argyle Street in Glasgow this May, its first site in Europe.
Tim Hortons was founded by its namesake, a professional ice hockey player, and now has more than 4,613 restaurants in nine countries. The brand is part of Restaurant Brands International, the third-largest operator of fast food restaurants in the world, as well as Burger King and Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen.
Franchise operator SK Group, which played a major role in the UK expansion of Domino's Pizza, will oversee the brand's introduction to the UK.
Tim Hortons in the UK will offer the brand's signature coffee, espresso-based beverages, hot chocolate, French Vanilla coffee and Iced Capp frozen coffee, as well as baked goods, breakfast and lunch items, and its signature Timbits bite-sized doughnuts.
ElÁas DÁaz Sesé, president, Tim Hortons Brand, added: "Bringing Tim Hortons to Great Britain and Glasgow, is something we're really excited about. Great Britain is a nation of coffee lovers, so we're confident Tim Hortons will continue to be a leader in the quick service restaurant sector across the pond."
