Carluccio's appoints new chairman
Italian restaurant chain Carluccio's has appointed a new non-executive chairman to replace Simon Kossoff who stepped down in July this year.
Carl Leaver, currently group CEO of Gala Coral, will take up the role.
Leaver led a turnaround of Gala Coral, culminating in an exit for the company's private equity shareholders through a proposed merger with Ladbrokes.
Prior to that he was director of international, home and e-commerce at Marks & Spencer and before that CEO of hotel and venues firm De Vere Group.
Carluccio's CEO Neil Wickers said: "With his international, leisure and retail background, I know Carl will be a fantastic addition to the team. I look forward to working closely with him as we take the business through its next stage of growth, both in the UK and overseas."
Leaver said: "I have long admired Carluccio's and I am delighted to be joining this unique brand with its mix of hospitality and retail. I very much look forward to taking the business forward with Neil and his team."
Carluccio's currently has 119 restaurants in the UK and abroad.
