Italian-style restaurant chain Carluccio's has opened a new site in Glasgow out-of-town retail park Silverburn, run by Hammerson.

Carluccio's is the fifth restaurant group to join the new £20m leisure extension at the shopping centre, opening a 339 sq m unit located adjacent to the the new 14-screen Cineworld cinema, which is expected to open next Spring.

Chris Daly, catering leasing executive at Hammerson, said: "Carluccio's is a great brand, adding prestige to our already strong line-up of restaurants planned for the leisure extension."

Pret A Manger and Patisserie Valerie are also set to open in what is described as the first wave of new brands to join the 9,294 sq m leisure extension.

They will be joined by Five Guys, TGI Friday's, Cosmo, Zizzi, Chimichanga and Pizza Express.
