Cau to open fifth UK site

Restaurant group Cau is to open a fifth UK site, in Kingston upon Thames in April.

The new restaurant will boast river views and will seat 150 indoors and on the outside terrace.

It will be located on the new Riverside Kingston development, which will include other restaurants such as Cote, Busaba Eathai and Comptoir Libanais.

The opening follows the launch of Cau Tunbridge Wells in February this year, and Blackheath in November 2013.

Cau is owned by the same shareholders who own steak restaurant group Gaucho. The group has a fifth site in Amsterdam.

Its all-day menu features steaks, burgers and sandwiches as well as a selection of pasta, fish and salads, fusing Italian and Spanish influences with a Buenos Aires twist.

Patsy Godik, creative director of Cau said: "We are delighted to be part of this exciting new development in Kingston, and are thrilled to have such a great site overlooking the river. As always we want to become an integral part of the local area, supporting the arts and local charities as well as providing a wonderful restaurant for all to enjoy."

Graham Hall, operations director of Cau added that there would be further openings this year.
