Chaîne des Rôtisseurs' Young Chef and Young Sommelier of the Year awards are open for entries
Entries are now open for the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs' Young Professional Awards 2013 for the Young Chef and Young Sommelier of the Year.
Open to all chefs under the age of 27 and sommeliers under the age of 35 who are currently working in Chaîne des Rôtisseurs affiliated establishments across Great Britain, the awards are designed to challenge the next generation of hospitality professionals to demonstrate their passion, flair and expertise.
Chefs and sommeliers must be nominated by their employer, Candidates are then assessed at a regional level, after which the most impressive contestants are invited to show their skills at the national finals.
The Young Chef of the Year final will take place at the Food Services Wing, Worthy Down, on 12 March 2013, while Young Sommelier of the Year finalists will be invited to compete at the Gaggenau Showrooms in London on 5 March 2013. The winners of the 2013 Young Professional Awards will be announced at a ceremony at the Dorchester in late March.
"It is vital that we support the next generation of chefs and sommeliers," commented Philip Evins, Bailli Délégué for the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs.
"We know how highly valued this initiative is across professional establishments and 2013 is set to be a pivotal year further to the success of 2012, which saw the contest evolve and grow with significant support industry-wide."
