Champagne + Fromage to open third site in Greenwich

Champagne + Fromage, the French-style bistro and delicatessen from Champagne grower and supplier French Bubbles, is to open on Church Street in Greenwich, London, in June.

The 50 sq m, 40-cover site will be the third for the group, from husband and wife team Stefano Frigerio and Maud Fierobe, and cheese expert Franck Le Blais. The group opened its second site in Brixton market in 2013, following a successful pop-up-to-permanent space in Covent Garden in 2011.

There will be 20 seats indoors and 20 outside. The menu will offer the group's usual selection of hot and cold, rustic-style French food, including a cheese board, salami and cured meat selection, baked Camembert, and a wide range of fresh tartines (sliced bread topped with ingredients such as salmon gradvlax, melted Raclette cheese with potatoes and ham, fresh figs on melted cheese, smoked duck with caramelised pear, and snails baked in butter), plus a Champagne menu available by the bottle or the glass.

The attached shop will sell a choice of 50 hard and soft French cheeses, along with an array of terrines, rillettes, cassoulets, confits, soups and jams, and saucisses (French sausages), plus a list of 25 Champagnes from French Bubbles available to take away.

Frigerio said: "We are extremely excited to be bringing our unique concept to a coveted corner of historic Greenwich market, which sees a footfall of in excess of 4.8 million visitors per year."
