Christoffer Hruskova leaves Michelin-starred North Road restaurant
Christoffer Hruskova, chef and co-owner of the Michelin-starred North Road in Clerkenwell, east London, has left the restaurant following a fall out with his partners.
Hruskova, who opened North Road in November 2010 and gained a Michelin star last October, has left the restaurant with immediate effect but will continue to operate his Fig Bistro in Islington.
"I have left due to difficulties in my working relationship with my business partners and they will run the restaurant now," he said.
"I still have Fig bistro but am not sure what will happen with that at this point. But I do have other projects going on and don't be surprised to see another restaurant project from me in six months' time."
North Road has promoted Rafael Cagali to the role of head chef to oversee the kitchen at the restaurant.
Cagali has worked at a number of Michelin-starred restaurants in the past, including the Fat Duck and Zafferano in the UK and Restaurante Quique Dacosta, a two-Michelin-starred restaurant in Denia, Spain, and the Michelin-starred Grand Hotel La Villa Feltrinelli at Lake Garda in Italy.
Spread over two floors, North Road includes a 66-seat main dining room as well as a 10-seat bar and a chef's table for up to eight diners and a 20-seat private dining room on the first floor.
