Chucs appoints Carlos Martinez group head chef

Chucs has appointed Carlos Martinez as group head chef across its portfolio of Italian restaurants.

Starting this month, Martinez joins from his previous role as head chef at Maze by Gordon Ramsay, ahead of the opening of Chucs at Harrods next month.

As well as the upcoming opening and existing restaurants, he will work alongside group executive head chef Alessandro Verdenelli, who has been with Chucs for 15 years.

Working his way up from head chef at Cliveden House in Taplow, Berkshire, to executive head chef, Martinez also held the role of executive head chef at the Stafford hotel in London for nearly three years.

Stephan Guicheteau, group food and beverage operation manager at Chucs, said: "With Chucs expanding this year and entering a new phase of development, we know Carlos's expertise will make a wonderful addition during this exciting time."

Chucs restaurants and cafes are a sister concept to the fashion label of the same name, with locations in London's Mayfair and Westbourne Grove.
