Clos Maggiore and the Greenhouse win wine award

Clos Maggiore and the two-Michelin-starred the Greenhouse have both won a Wine Spectator Grand Award in recognition of their extensive and diverse wine lists.

The restaurants - based in London's Covent Garden and Hay's Mews in Mayfair - are the only two in the UK to win the award, and two of just 74 in the world.

Clos Maggiore's founder and owner Paul Corrett, whose restaurant dedicates various evenings per month to individual winemakers from around the world, said: "Words cannot express how thrilled we all are to have picked up this incredibly prestigious award. We work very hard as a team to produce our wine list. We scour the globe trying to unearth new and exciting wines and are not afraid to break the norm and try out new offerings. We have around 2000 selections on our wine list based on a cellar inventory of 35,000 bottles and it is not unusual for us to change our list almost on a daily basis in order to get it just right."
