Cocktail bar operator Fluid Movement to open its first restaurant

Fluid Movement, the group behind London cocktail bars Purl and Worship Street Whistling Shop, is to launch its first restaurant.

Dach & Sons, which will open in Hampstead, north London, in September, will be a New York-inspired restaurant and cocktail bar serving hotdogs and sliders alongside craft beers and whiskies.

Interiors will combine industrial and natural elements, featuring wooden tables and pews as well as a bar area and a whisky library. The restaurant will seat 70 diners plus 40 on a decked outdoor terrace.

Matt Whiley, Fluid Movement co-founder, commented: "We have always been one step ahead with the bars and we wanted to apply the formula to a restaurant. Premium hot dog restaurants are starting to trend but nobody else will offer a full, speakeasy package like ours."

Meanwhile, on the first floor, above Dach & Sons, will be a new Purl cocktail bar, the second after the original in Marylebone, which opened in 2010. Seating up to 35 guests, it will feature a gold-leaf ceiling, blue velvet banquettes and offer an extensive cocktail list of old classics.

Fluid Movement is run by Whiley, Tristan Stephenson, Thomas Aske and Bryan Pietersen. The group opened the Worship Street Whistling Shop in east London last year.
