London restaurateurs Pascal Aussignac and Vincent Labeyrie have launched an online food hall selling the products from their bistro and delicatessen Comptoir Gascon in Smithfield.
The duo, who also own the Michelin-starred restaurant Club Gascon also in Smithfield and Le Cercle in Chelsea, are now selling specialities from Gascony in the South-west of France from their website, gasconline.com.
Products on sale include cassoulet, foie gras, garbure and confit of duck leg as well as a wide range of Gascon wines.
Aussignac told Caterersearch the site was launched to bring the products to a wider audience.
"When we first set up Comptoir Gascon in 2001 it operated purely as a shop so we want to return to the roots of it," he said. "After all the French word comptoir means counter and it's all about the products of Gascony."
Aussignac and Labeyrie, who won the 2007 Restaurateur of the Year - Independent Catey, are launching a new restaurant at Westfield shopping centre in London's Shepherd's Bush at the end of this month.
The new venture, called Croque Gascon, will be located within the Eat Gallery, the upmarket eating court on the first floor at Westfield.
