Comptoir Libanais owner to open two new London sites
The restaurateur behind Lebanese canteen Comptoir Libanais is set to launch two new sites in Paddington and the O2 Centre on Finchley Road this autumn.
The 30-cover Paddington site, which opens at the end of August, has been designed by owner Tony Kitous and will feature a long glass product counter displaying the range of dips, salads, hot wraps and tagines alongside pastries and freshly-baked breads.
A month later will see the launch of the fourth Comptoir Libanais in the O2 Centre on Finchley Road. The 90-cover restaurant will be a considerably larger site, and will be designed by i-am associates.
Both new restaurants will feature a shawarma rotisserie, a traditional Lebanese dish of marinated meat carved straight from a vertical rotisserie.
The two new venues will also have alcohol licences, serving cocktails, wines, Turkish and Lebanese beer as well as freshly-squeezed juices, smoothies, frozen yoghurt and blended lemonades.
Kitous said: "Lebanese food is my real passion. I have always wanted to make it more accessible by serving it against an exciting and modern design, relevant to today's consumer.
"Comptoir Libanais has allowed me to introduce Lebanese food to a wide market and I am delighted our first two sites have been so positively received."
