Costas Spiliadis to open new London restaurant

Chef Costas Spiliadis is to open a branch of his Greek fish restaurant Estiatorio Milos in London in June this year.

It will be the sixth restaurant for the restaurant brand, which already has sites in Athens, Las Vegas, Miami, Montreal and New York.

The new London venue will open at No 1 Regent Street, St James's in what used to be British Columbia House.

The Grade-II listed building will be turned into a 180-cover restaurant and will feature a main dining room, bar and fish market-style display on the ground floor, with a raw seafood bar, private dining rooms and wine cellar on the mezzanine level.

Spiliadis is credited with pioneering North America's Hellenic food scene by introducing food from the islands of Greece, with his restaurants having a reputation for serving very fresh seafood.

The new London restaurant has been designed jointly by Spiliadis and architect Alain Carle.
