Côte to open third restaurant outside London
Côte, the French brasserie concept launched by Andy Bassadone and Chris Benians, the former management team of Strada, is to open its third outlet outside London.
The group has acquired a site in Cambridge, the former Edwinns restaurant on Bridge Street, which will reopen as Côte in December.
The latest acquisition, which brings Côte's portfolio to nine sites, marks the group's third restaurant outside the capital, after Guilford, Surrey, and Horsham, West Sussex.
Bassadone and Benians sold Italian pizza chain Strada to restaurant group Tragus in a deal worth £140m in June 2007. The launch of Côte was backed by Caprice Holdings owner Richard Caring.
Brandon Elmon, agent at Davis Coffer Lyons, advised on the acquisition of the new premises.
He said: "We agreed their first site in Wimbledon back in 2007 and have over the last two years secured sites in Richmond, Kensington, Hays Galleria and Soho to name but a few. We are delighted to have secured yet another great location in Cambridge and look forward to help the concept expand further."
