Cottesmore Golf and Country Club to be refurbished

The Cottesmore Golf and Country Club in Pease Pottage is set to have its health club and bar/restaurant completely refurbished, with a revamp of the hotel rooms planned for next year.

The running of the business, which has two 18-hole golf courses, 21 hotel rooms, seven self-catering log cabins, three function rooms, and a health club with a pool and gym, was taken over last year by Louisa Porter and her husband Johnny Porter.

The change of management came after a 15-year lease to Crown Golf to run the site on behalf of owner Matthew Rogerson, Louisa Porter's father, came to an end.

The Porters also plan to improve the food offer at the Cottesmore, once the £60,000 health club and £15,000 restaurant/bar refurbishments have finished in December. Work on the rooms is due to start in February 2014.

Louisa Porter said: "My father and grandfather built it in 1973 so it's great to have it back in the family and it's not often a business gets taken on by the third generation."
