Coya to open second London site

Peruvian restaurant Coya is set to open a second London site, this time in the 24-storey Angel Court development in the City.

Coya, operated by restaurateur Arjun Waney, has signed for a 4,500 sq ft bar and restaurant on the ground floor of the 300,000 sq ft office building, developed by Mitsui Fudosan UK and Stanhope.

It will be joined by the Natural Kitchen, which has a deal for 6,000 sq ft in the Copthall Avenue unit, while cafe chain Notes has signed for a 1,500 sq ft unit to the south of the building's reception.

The first Coya site launched in summer 2012 in London's Mayfair. Owned by Waney, who also runs Zuma and Roka among other venues, it has sister sites in Miami in the US and in Dubai.

The Natural Kitchen, which was first founded on Marylebone High Street in 2007, will provide a varied all-day offer for consumers, serving a range of healthy, freshly prepared food and drinks. Angel Court will be The Natural Kitchen's eighth site in London.

It will also be Notes's eighth site in London, with other locations including Kings Cross, Trafalgar Square and Canary Wharf.

Eiichiro Onozawa, managing director of Mitsui Fudosan (UK), said: "An important part of our strategy at Angel Court has always been to create a genuine sense of place at the scheme through the strength of our food and beverage offer. By signing three hugely popular brands, we are confident that we are not only delivering a vibrant and exciting environment for our future office occupiers, but also the wider area as a whole."

David Camp, chief executive of Stanhope, added: "We are well on track to delivering a striking new landmark building which will provide much needed quality, flexible and modern office space to the City market by the end of the year. With working habits changing significantly over the last 20 years, it is vital for us to complement this office accommodation with a varied leisure offer and we are confident that the highly popular operators we have signed will do just that."

Angel Court is expected to complete in December of this year.
