Cuban restaurant in Farringdon sold to Tesco

The Cuban bar and restaurant Latin Square in London's Farringdon has been sold to make way for a Tesco Express.

The 4,000 sq ft site on Farringdon Road will undergo an overhaul and re-open shortly, after a new 15-year lease was granted for the supermarket giant.

Jonathan Moradoff, negotiator at property agent Davis Coffer Lyons, which represented Latin Square, said retailers are increasingly looking at taking over hospitality outlets

"We are seeing an increased flexibility in retailers' approaches and they are now considering sites that were previously operating as pure bar and restaurant brands as they see the potential they can offer," he said.
