Dabbous to close this summer ahead of ‘major new initiative'

Ollie Dabbous and Oskar Kinberg, co-owners of Michelin-starred restaurant Dabbous are to close the venue in summer this year.

The move comes ahead of a "major new undertaking" set to launch in late 2017 or early 2018.

In the meantime, Dabbous' lease has been put up for sale through property agent Davis Coffer Lyons.

Dabbous and Kinberg said that the new opening, details about which are scarce, would involve the entire team as well as additional members of staff but that it would have a completely different identity to that of Dabbous.

Dabbous said: "We have been offered an amazing opportunity that enables all of us to grow and evolve. Naturally we are sad to be closing Dabbous, but at the same time we are all very much looking forward to the next chapter. It's a phenomenal site and we can't wait to get started. In the meantime, I will savour my remaining months cooking in my current kitchen and making our guests happy."

Dabbous restaurant opened in London's Whitfield Street in 2012, followed by Barnyard on Charlotte Street in 2014. Late last year it was announced that he would be a launching third restaurant having partnered with the Experimental Group on the Henrietta hotel in London's Covent Garden.

The 80-cover restaurant will be spread over two floors of the hotel and will feature a seasonal menu taking inspiration from France.
