Danish restaurant Snaps & Rye opens in Notting Hill
Danish-style restaurant Snaps & Rye is to open in London's Notting Hill tomorrow.
The 35-seat restaurant is the first hospitality venture from Danish-English husband-and-wife team Kell and Jacqueline Skött, who previously operated the space as a hairdresser.
Chef Trine Vennerstrøm Eriksen-Johnson has developed a menu of classic Danish cuisine, such as smørrebrød, served on homemade organic rye bread with toppings such as house-cured herring and ‘Rullepølse', meatballs, cured fish and salads.
Tuborg beer, Akvavit cocktails and house-infused Akvavit snaps will feature on the drinks list.
The Nordic-style interior was designed by the Skötts and includes lye-treated pine flooring, solid oak counters and 1950's Louis Poulsen PH lamps.
There will also be a collection of Danish books, home accessories and food available to buy, including Anne Black crockery, Flensted mobiles and Lakrids liquorice.
