Danny Breithaupt promoted to Restaurant Group chief executive

The Restaurant Group has announced that Danny Breithaupt will take over from Andrew Page as chief executive officer.

Currently managing director of the group's leisure business, Breithaupt will work alongside Page for the next few months before taking over on 1 September 2014.

He originally joined The Restaurant Group in 2001, holding a number of senior positions before being made managing director in 2012.

Restaurant Group chairman Alan Jackson said: "Danny is a highly experienced, senior member of the company's executive team and has been instrumental in developing and steering our leisure business to its current market leading position. He has a unique insight into the company and the skillset to continue The Restaurant Group's highly successful strategy."
