Del Aziz to open sixth site in Clapham
Middle Eastern restaurant group Del'Aziz is set to open its sixth London outlet next month in Clapham, south-west London.
Situated in the Clapham Old Town, the new site will launch on 5 December. It will comprise a delicatessen-café, gift shop, 70-cover restaurant and two bars.
Interiors have been developed by Shaun Clarkson, and like its sister sites the restaurant will mix warm tones of red, pink and saffron with wooden and copper features.
Owned by husband-and-wife team Shahrokh and Zehra Parvin, Del'Aziz will serve an all-day menu from breakfast through to dinner, with dishes showcasing the flavours of the Middle East and eastern Mediterranean.
In the restaurant typical dishes will range from hot and cold mezze platters to share to traditional tagines and couscous, fresh fish, meats from the charcoal grill as well as a choice of burgers and stuffed pitas.
Adjoining the restaurant will be a 16-seat lounge bar, where cocktails will be served. Meanwhile, on the lower ground floor will be a separate late-night bar, set to open in January. Zahra will offer an extensive list of cocktails, a bar menu of sharing mezzes and entertainment from belly dancers, live jazz musicians and DJs.
The café will serve cakes as well as dishes from the restaurant menu in a more casual setting with communal wooden tables, sofas and armchairs.
The delicatessen will sell a selection of freshly made breads, sandwiches, cakes, pastries, teas and coffees to take away as well as a range of hand-crafted homeware and gift items, including copperware, tagine pots, wooden baskets and bowls, tea glasses and teapots.
Del'Aziz currently runs five outlets across London in Bankside, Bermondsey, Fulham, Swiss Cottage and at Westfield.
