Dev Biswal to relocate Ambrette in Rye

Chef Dev Biswal is to relocate Ambrette in Rye, following a dispute with the landlord of the original restaurant.

The 50-cover eaterie, which sat within White Vine House on the High Street, opened in 2011.

It was the second of his three Ambrette sites - the first having opened in Margate. The third opened in Canterbury in Kent last year.

The restaurant will reopen just a few doors away on Rye High Street.

Biswal declined to give further details about the cause of the breakdown in his relationship with the landlord at the original Rye site, but will be moving staff from that restaurant to Margate and Canterbury.

* This story was revised on 21/07/2015 to reflect the relocation of the restaurant.
