Domino's Pizza breaks £1m online weekly sales barrier in UK
Domino's Pizza UK has taken its most online orders to date with £1m worth of pizzas ordered last week.
Last year Domino's Pizza took £23m worth of sales online in the UK.
In comparison, system sales, which represent all sales in the UK and Ireland under the Domino's banner, increased 19.7% to £240.1m (2005: £207m) in 2007.
Robin Auld, marketing director at Domino's, said: "Exceptional service is at the heart of our business and we're proud of our position… offering more ways to order than ay other pizza company."
Domino's has been pushing e-commerce ordering hard this year via a series of television advertising and in July launched an SMS delivery service that achieved 2,000 registered users in its first month of operation.
The online sales figures cover the week from 19 to the 25 November and strip out carry out sales and orders via TV or text. They do not include transactions in the Republic of Ireland.
