Domino's reports another strong performance

Domino's Pizza has reiterated its commitment to open between 800 and 1,000 stores in the UK and Ireland, after another strong operating performance.

Pre-tax profit in the six months to 3 July leapt 22.6% to £5m (2004: £4.1m) as 23 new takeaways were opened in the period taking the total to 380.

Turnover grew 19.1% to £97.1m (2004: £81.5m), with internet sales now making up 10.6% of this (£6.5m).

Like-for-like sales at its 317 mature stores was up 8.4%.

Domino's chief executive Stephen Hemsley said: "With record store openings and robust like-for-like sales growth… we look forward to opening a total of between 800 and 1,000 Domino Pizza stores in the UK and Ireland."
