Eco-friendly Sussex Exchange to open in Hastings
A new eco-friendly restaurant, bar and conference venue is set to open in Hastings, East Sussex, next week, with the launch of the Sussex Exchange.
Opening on 29 August, the Sussex Exchange forms part of the economic development programme for the area led by Sea Change Sussex. It is housed in a contemporary building next to the area's main business estates and overlooking the woodland of the Marline Valley. It will open from 8am to 9pm, Monday to Friday, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The venue has been built with a sustainability standard featuring a biomass boiler, toilets flushed by rainwater, and shingle roofs as a natural habitat for plants and insects.
The restaurant and bar can seat 58, with floor-to-ceiling windows providing panoramic woodland views and further seating outside.
The Sussex Exchange has three conference and event rooms, including the 130-cover Forest room, the 52-cover Cinema and the 35-cover Meadow room.
Peter Adlington, managing director of Plastipack, commented: "The Sussex Exchange is a striking contemporary, environmentally-friendly building. It's a much-needed venue for people to get together in a wonderful leafy setting for conferences, meetings and training sessions - or simply to enjoy a meal and some drinks. There's nothing quite like it around and I'm sure it's going to be a great asset to businesses as well as leisure customers."
