El Celler de Can Roca to partner with Westminster Kingsway on London pop up

Spanish restaurant El Celler de Can Roca is to partner with Westminster Kingsway College to offer students the opportunity to learn from the celebrated Roca brothers.

Ten representatives from the catering school will work with the El Celler de Can Roca owners at its four night Café Royal pop up next month. Two students will then be offered a four-month internship at El Celler de Can Roca in Girona.

The Westminster Kingsway College students will be part of a team of 35 from the restaurant, serving an 18 course dinner to 60 guests each night.

The Roca brothers Joan, Jordi and Josep will provide a cookery masterclass for students, as well as mentoring them for the duration of the pop up.

Joan Roca said: "On our travels, the local crew is essential to the El Celler de Can Roca experience. We are delighted to be working with Westminster Kingsway College with its reputation for excellence among London restaurateurs."

Westminster Kingsway College vice principal of hospitality and adult programmes Gary Hunter added: "This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance for Westminster Kingsway College to work with one of the greatest restaurants in the world. I am confident our students will add something to the El Celler de Can Roca experience."

El Celler de Can Roca on the BBVA World Tour at London's Cafe Royal runs from 2-5 August.
