Embassy pair launch restaurant and bars venture in Dubai
Bar and restaurant group Embassy is launching a second overseas business in Dubai's five-star Grosvenor House hotel.
Embassy Dubai will be spread over the top three floors of the hotel's second tower, The Residence, which is set to open by the end of 2008.
Owners Mark Fuller and Gary Hollihead have taken a 10-year contract on the space, which will cover 10,000sq ft. The venue will include a 100-cover restaurant with 360-degree panoramic views over Dubai Marina and the Arabian Gulf, as well as a seafood and caviar bar and a vodka bar.
Embassy Dubai will be open to hotel guests, club members and diners only. Menus under the direction of Hollihead will be similar to those at the London restaurant with bias towards local produce.
The site marks Fuller's second venture in the Middle East following Embassy Abu Dhabi, which is set to open by March next year.
Grosvenor House the Residence, which will be 44 storeys high, will include 288 furnished suites and will be linked to Grosvenor House by a glass bridge.
The Residence will also feature a Buddha Bar in the basement. The Parisian-based bar concept serves Asian fusion-style cuisine and has themed dining areas, a sushi bar, and sunken private lounges.
