Eric Chavot to represent the UK at Academy of Gastronomy anniversary
Eric Chavot, head chef at London's two-Michelin-starred restaurant at the Capital hotel, will represent the UK at the 25th anniversary celebration of the International Academy of Gastronomy.
To commemorate the event the Academy, which represents five European countries including France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland and the UK, is holding a lunch at the Hotel Le Bristol in Paris next Monday (1 December).
Chavot will join high-calibre chefs in cooking for the lunch including Eric Fréchon of the two-Michelin-starred Le Bristol, who is representing France, and Ferran Adrià, from the three-Michelin-starred El Bulli, who will be cooking for Spain.
Italy will have Nadia Santini of the three-Michelin-starred Dal Pescatore cooking at the event, while Switzerland will be represented by Dominique Gauthier from Le Chat Botté.
Each chef will create a signature dish, with Chavot preparing a lobster in coconut broth.
Among the 120 guests will be French president Nicolas Sarkozy, who will honour the event as head patron of the Academy.
