Fire damage keeps Brighton's Terre a Terre closed over Christmas

Terre à Terre, an award-winning vegetarian restaurant in Brighton, East Sussex will now remain closed until the New Year.

The restaurant which closed after a fire broke out in its kitchen on the 1 October 2012, and, in spite of efforts by the management team, now states on its website: "Due to major red tape delays and long waits for kitchen equipment Terre à Terre will remain closed for the Christmas period and will re-open in the New Year.

"We value our customers' commitment too much to risk disappointing them and the decision to open in the New Year gives us an achievable goal.

"We are so sad and sorry for any inconvenience caused and look forward to seeing you all in 2013".

The restaurant opened in 1993 by Amanda Powley and Philip Taylor, both classically trained chefs has become one of the best-known vegetarian restaurants in the UK.
