First north-western Jamie's Italian to open in Liverpool One

Jamie Oliver has confirmed that his first Jamie's Italian restaurant in the north-west will open in Liverpool One, a retail and leisure development in Merseyside.

The 6,251 sq ft restaurant, which is expected to open in June, will be situated opposite John Lewis in Paradise Place and trade on the ground floor with a mezzanine.

Simon Blagden, managing director of Jamie's Italian, described the 1.65 million sq ft shopping centre as the perfect location for a Jamie's Italian, adding: "Nowhere is more appropriate for our concept of creating ‘neighbourhood' restaurants."

Jamie Oliver said: "When people eat at a ‘Jamie's Italian', I want them to really get into the food, maybe try something they wouldn't normally try, but always be safe in the knowledge that they're eating good stuff, prepared with love."
