Five Guys, BrewDog and Giggling Squid among operators on Sunday Times Fast Track 100
Five Guys, BrewDog and Giggling Squid are among the hospitality operators to appear in the 22nd annual Sunday Times Fast Track 100 league table.
The league table ranks Britain's private companies with the fastest-growing sales over three years.
Mission Mars, a Manchester-based bar and restaurant operator, was the highest standing hospitality company in the table in fifth place. Its annual sales growth over three years reached 147%, with turnover in the year to September 2018 of £27.7m. The operator raised £10.2m in July from BGF, a growth fund for small and medium-sized enterprises, to fund the growth of its Rudy's and Schloss brands.
Liverpool's Mowgli Street Food chain, London's Flat Iron steak restaurant and pizza chain Homeslice also featured on the league table, with growth of 106%, 75% and 57% respectively.
Despite a challenging year for the casual dining sector, burger chains Honest Burger and Five Guys showed promising results with a three-year annual growth of 48% and 72% respectively.
Thai restaurant chain Giggling Squid, placed 99th on the table with sales of £23.7m in the year to March 2018 and annual sales growth of 46% over three years following a sustained period of expansion.
Brewing company BrewDog appeared for a record seventh consecutive year, with sales growth of 56% and sales of £111.6m in the year to December 2017. Also on the list was pub operator Brewhouse & Kitchen in 19th position after reporting growth of 104% over three years and sales for the year ending September 2017 of £11.4m.
