Five Guys to open in Milton Keynes Xscape centre

American burger group Five Guys is to open a branch in Xscape, the Milton Keynes extreme sports centre, in July.

The 3,550 sq ft site will be on the ground floor of the centre, and serve the usual menu of hamburgers, hot dogs, sandwiches and a variety of sides and sauces.

Commenting on the news, Henry Wilson at leisure property services Shelley Sandzer, who helped Five Guys to acquire the new site, said: "The brand has bought a real buzz and traded strongly [at other leisure parks]. We envisage this to be the case when Five Guys launches at Xscape."

The restaurant will join the centre alongside the re-opening of its Hollywood Bowl bowling alley, and refurbishment of the Cineworld cinema.

Washington DC-created Five Guys, whose flagship UK site launched in London's Covent Garden in 2013, now has 24 locations across the UK, including at shopping and leisure centres the Intu Trafford centre in Manchester, the Bullring in Birmingham, Bluewater in Kent, Glasgow's Silverburn and Essex's Intu Lakeside. It is also due to launch at Intu Braehead in Glasgow, next month.
