Flurry of senior appointments at Gordon Ramsay Group as Stuart Gillies promoted

Stuart Gillies has been promoted from managing director to chief executive of Gordon Ramsay Group.

The promotion comes as part of a number of appointments at the 29-strong collection of restaurants as it looks to continue its expansion.

Gillies will continue to focus on the group's strategic growth while developing the brand's culture.

Taking over from him as managing director is Andy Wenlock, who will lead on the day-to-day running of the business, with his promotion from operations director to managing director.

Other new appointments include David Kerr, who joins the company as financial director. He was most recently at Home House and helped the company to grow its EBITDA by 66%, while the group refinanced and raised £23m.

Meanwhile, Charlie Glynn joins as people director from the Harris & Hoole café chain, which is part-owned by Tesco.

Gordon Ramsay said: "It's a very exciting time at Gordon Ramsay Group and we've created some new strategic roles as we enter the next phase of development. I'm very excited for Stuart, who's been with the group for over a decade and a driving force in our international growth, as well as Andy Wenlock, who will excel in the role of managing director. I'm looking forward to working closely with these talented individuals as the group continues to mature and grow."

The appointments follow some high-profile departures from the business. Last month it emerged that both Neil Snowball, formerly head chef of Pétrus restaurant in London's Knightsbridge, and Amanda Dobindon, formerly GRG's commercial director, had both left the business.
