Former Espresso Warehouse boss to join Beyond the Bean

Gary McGann, previously managing director of Espresso Warehouse, will join wholesaler Beyond the Bean next month as sales and marketing director.

McGann left Espresso Warehouse last month after Glasgow coffee-roaster and parent company Matthew Algie decided to place the wholesaler under its direct control.

Jeremy Rogers, managing director and owner of Beyond the Bean, said today that the company's rapid growth had led him to make the appointment.

Rogers said: "I'm sure this will come as a surprise to many people in the industry due to the competitive nature of our business history. However, we have always kept in touch and met up at tradeshows."

McGann will continue his work on the board of the Speciality Coffee Association of Europe and as an ambassador for not-for-profit organisation Coffee Kids.
