Former Michelin-starred chef launches site for emerging talent
Former Michelin-starred chef John Wood has launched a website aimed at emerging chefs who are unsure how to manage their kitchen and menus efficiently.
Kitchen Cut is designed to appeal to chefs that are creative with food but lack the budgetary skills to make their passion pay.
Wood said: "After spending several years running an international consultancy business, it became clear to me that the financial and man-management skills required to run a successful hospitality business were not extensively covered in chef's training, or at any point afterwards as chefs progressed through their careers. These chefs would then find themselves in a situation where they needed to learn very quickly and did not know where to turn."
Service on offer on the subscription site include secure online recipe storage, a margin development system, training, HR and management tools and supplier prices.
The site costs from £9.99 per month for the ‘First Cut Package' through to £49.99 for the platinum ‘Final Cut'.
Wood, who has worked at the Burj Al Arab in Dubai, the Dorchester and Cliveden, continues to work with catering colleges to develop mentoring workshops and offers and guidance to up-and-coming chefs.
