Former staff member buys Woburn restaurant

Roberto Sergi has bought the leasehold on the Sapori restaurant in Woburn where he used to work.

The 50-seat Italian restaurant (whose name means ‘tastes') lies just off the cobbled Market Place in the historic Bedfordshire village in Leighton Street.

The Georgian village of Woburn is a centre for chic restaurants, pubs, hotels, specialist shops, art and antique galleries, monthly farmers' market and annual Oyster Festival The nearby Woburn estate is a major tourist attraction with its abey, deer and safari park, antiques centre, championship golf course and country club.

The leasehold on the restaurant, which comes with three-bedroom owners's above, sold for the asking price of £179,950.

The Milton Keynes office of Christie + Co sold the leasehold on behalf of Sergio and Jo Perano.

Sergi and his business partner Livio Bove, who are local to Milton Keynes, plan to continue running the business in the current style of serving authentic, freshly-prepared Italian cuisine.
