Frankie & Benny's to open at Yate Riverside park in Gloucestershire
American-style restaurant group Frankie & Benny's is to open at retail and leisure park Yate Riverside in south Gloucestershire after signing a 15-year lease.
The new site is expected to have around 160 covers, including outdoor seating.
The park is set to open this autumn, and has also recently received offers for two other restaurant units, totalling nearly 5,000 sq ft. This leaves it with just two restaurants and one retail unit left.
Other brands known to be joining the new 98,000 sq ft new development include Costa, Prezzo and Dean's Diner.
The park, from architects Haskolls, is adjacent to the 450,000 sq ft Yate Shopping Centre in the main city centre, and also includes a six-screen Cineworld cinema and 20,000 sq ft Next store.
Mark Hull, group property controller of Ivypark Limited, asset manager for the owners corporate services group Crestbridge, said the location was seen as "must-have".
He said: "These lettings add two further national names to our impressive line-up of leading brands, putting Yate on the map as a regional retail and leisure destination. It offers the modern, large restaurant and retail space needed to bring new operators to the town."
With over 230 restaurants across the UK, it serves Italian-American-style dishes including chargrilled burgers, steaks, pizza, and pasta, as well as BBQ ribs, seafood and indulgent desserts. It has been expanding rapidly in the past 10 years, although has not quite achieved its 2005 plans to open 100 more sites, which would have taken it to 250 sites by 2010.
