French buyer for Norwich restaurant

A Frenchman has bought the Café Parisien restaurant in the Norfolk town of Norwich.

Gregory Maillet has sold his restaurant and hotel in Mervent to run the restaurant, which occupies the ground floor of 13-15 St George's Street in a busy medieval thoroughfare just off city centre.

It has a prime location directly opposite the Norwich Playhouse and near both Norwich Art School and St Andrew's Hall

The 40-seat, traditional French restaurant enjoys a busy lunchtime and evening trade, offering an à la carte menu, a specials board, a sandwich counter and an outside catering service.

The Ipswich office of Christie + Co sold the leasehold off an asking price of £115,000 on behalf of Romain Robert (also a Frenchman) who worked at the Savoy hotel before moving to Norfolk.
