Gideon Joffe's Chooks chicken group to open second site
Chooks, the chicken-centric restaurant group from Gideon Joffe, is to open its second site in Haven Green in Ealing, west London.
The 1,900 sq ft, 60-cover unit is set to open on 19 October and will replace Pizza on the Green. It will be the second site after the original Muswell Hill location, and will offer the usual menu of chicken fried or grilled by the quarter, half or whole, alongside buttermilk fried chicken made with a "secret family" recipe.
Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, it will also offer burgers, salads, sides, desserts, cocktails, craft beers and wine.
The first site opened in 2012, and this second venue is set to be the first in a wider expansion plan across the UK.
Founder and owner Gideon is the son of Giraffe founders Russel and Juliette, and also operates the steakhouse restaurants MonkeyNuts in Crouch End and Whetstone, and Belsize Park bistro Chez Bob.
He said: "I am very excited to be expanding Chooks and am looking forward to the next exciting phase of the journey."
London-based Restaurant Property advised on the deal.
