Giggling Squid secures 13th site
Thai restaurant chain Giggling Squid is to open in Guildford in Surrey later this year, taking the group to 13 sites.
The business completed on a deal to take over a former Café Rouge site at 8/9 Chapel Street late last week.
It will reopen later this year following a major refurbishment and will accommodate around 90 covers, up from its current capacity of 66.
The move comes ahead of Giggling Squids opening next month of its Bristol and Salisbury sites, which will be its 11th and 12th respectively.
Giggling Squid was founded in 2009 by husband-and-wife team Pranee and Andy Laurillard.
Earlier this year it reported a 67% rise in turnover, with sales at £4.5m for the year to 31 March 2014. Group sales this year are expected to reach £7.7m, with an EBITDA of around £1.4m.
