Grain Store, Story and Paesan join shortlist for 2014 Menu of the Year Catey
Three further restaurants have been shortlisted for the Caterer and Hotelkeeper Menu of the Year Catey 2014, sponsored by Quorn.
The menus, selected from the Menuwatch pages of Caterer over the past three months, are from Restaurant Story (Caterer, 2 August), Grain Store (Caterer, 13 September) and Paesan (Caterer, 4 October). They join Launceston Place, Hartnett Holder & Co and the Boundary who were shortlisted earlier this year.
They were judged on innovation within the price bracket of that particular establishment or contract; good use of seasonal produce on the menu; creativity of the dishes being served; careful marrying of textures and flavours of the component ingredients; value for money; and seeing the menu or selection of dishes, would you be tempted to eat there.
The full shortlist of 12 menus will be revealed next May, and will be judged ahead of the annual Catey awards, to take place in July 2014.
