Greene King has confirmed that it is in exclusive discussions with Loch Fyne Restaurants with a view to acquire the chain of fish restaurants.

If the deal goes ahead Greene King would acquire the 36 Loch Fyne sites currently trading in the UK as well as exclusive rights to use the Loch Fyne name.

Greene King, which brews its own beers including IPA and operates approximately 2,500 leased and tenanted pubs, said that while discussions were ongoing a transaction was not yet guaranteed.
