Haché to open Balham restaurant
Upscale London burger restaurant group Haché is to open a fifth site, set to open by Christmas this year.
Located at 37 Bedford Hill in Balham, the new restaurant will occupy the former home of Meze Kitchen and is expected to create around 20 new jobs.
Balham marks the second new restaurant for Haché in two years, following on from the successful launch of Shoreditch in February 2013.
Founder, Berry Casey, said: "Our Shoreditch opening, along with strong performance across the company, shows us that demand for a more sophisticated burger experience is increasing. This, along with our strong and established management team, puts us in great shape for expansion and we're now considering taking on an investment partner who will support our plans for a more rapid roll-out."
The new Haché Balham, with a £500,000 investment, will occupy 150 sq m and allow for 70 covers.
Commenting on the design scheme for Balham, co-founder Suzie Casey says: "We are completely reworking the interior with a focus on unique décor which will include familiar Haché fittings such as chandeliers, big mirrors, fairy lights and romantic areas. Externally, the façade will be brought in line with Haché standards with the aim of appealing to local passers-by and enhancing the street scene."
The site was identified for Haché by Marc Rogers at Selsion.
