Hakkasan Group expands into Indonesia and the US

Hakkasan Group has announced further international expansion for 2016 with the opening of two new restaurants and a nightclub in Indonesia and the introduction of its Michelin-starred Yauatcha brand to the US.

The Indonesian expansion will involve restaurant brands Hakkasan and Sake no Hana, as well as nightclub brand OMNIA, all opening in Alila Hotels and Resorts' newest development, Alila SCBD in Jakarta, in the second half of 2016. Yauatcha will open in Houston, at the Houston Galleria, and in Honolulu at the redeveloped International Market Place. These follow recent openings in Shanghai, Mykonos, Los Angeles and London.

The group says it is planning aggressive expansion within the Pacific Rim via its existing portfolio of brands, as well as further diversification through strategic acquisitions and new brand launches.

"As the first step in South East Asia, Jakarta presents a fantastic opportunity due to its increasing importance as a luxury destination and the large amount of Indonesian tourism to Las Vegas, which has led to locals being familiar with some of the Hakkasan Group brands," said group president Nick McCabe.
