Hunt for Team UK's Bocuse d'Or candidate begins ahead of September selection
The hunt is on to find the UK's candidate for next year's Bocuse d'Or competition in Lyon, France, with selections slated to take place at London's Restaurant Show in September.
Five selected finalists and their commis will compete on 30 September at the Restaurant Show in London. From there the top competitor will be put forward for the Bocuse d'Or European selections in Estonia, due to take place in 2020.
Dubbed the world cup of cuisine, the Bocuse d'Or was set up by Paul Bocuse in 1987, and sees the world's top chefs compete to push the limits of classic French food. The five-and-a-half hour competition at the Sirah trade fair in Lyon is famous for its sports-stadium atmosphere and paradigm-shifting culinary creations.
Competitors can apply via the Bocuse d'Or UK website ahead of the 24 June deadline.
