Hutong to reopen after kitchen fire

Hutong, the Chinese restaurant on the 33rd floor of the Shard in London, will reopen this afternoon (Friday 7 August).

The restaurant has remained closed since Tuesday morning following a kitchen fire, when a blaze started in the oven. There were no injuries and the fire was quickly extinguished by sprinklers. The rest of the building was unaffected.

Around 100 people from restaurants on the 31st, 32nd and 33rd floors were evacuated when the incident occurred and an investigation to determine the cause of the fire is still under way.
