Italian restaurant and wine bar C'Alice to open in Fulham

C'Alice, an Italian restaurant and wine bar, run by husband-and-wife team Giovanni Di Stefano and Alice Ravelli, will open on Munster Road in Fulham, south London next month.

The 40-cover restaurant, pronounced kah-lee-che, will serve dishes inspired by both the north and south of Italy.

Chef Carla Murgioni will run the kitchen and has designed a menu to include Italian specialities such as capesante al pompelo (pan-fried scallops in grapefruit juice), risotto de giorno (risotto of the day) and salmone special dello chef in crosta di papavero (chef's special poppy seed roasted salmon served in a sweet beetroot purée with sautéed asparagus).

There will also be a selection of desserts such as homemade tiramisu and a variety of Italian ice-creams.

Wines will be served by both the glass and bottle and a series of wine tasting evenings will be introduced in the coming months.

Ravelli, who has a background in fashion design, has worked alongside architect Maurizio Balistreri on the design of the restaurant.
